September 5, 2008 Northern Tier Democratic congressman Chris Carney is leading his challenger -- Republican Chris Hackett -- in two recent polls.
However, differences between the polls leave the candidates wondering how close the race really is.
The Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call printed a 49 to 45 percent lead for Carney last week. But according to his own poll a few days earlier, Carney claims the margin is much wider. He says he's leading by 27 percent.
Carney is in his first term in Congress. His district represents Bradford County. |
